Litigation Support Services Regional Specialist 650 Redwood Shores
Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Litigation Support Services, selected candidate will work directly with litigation practice area in providing support and technical assistance on new and existing systems.
The LSS Regional Specialist will coordinate and work on multiple litigation case matters in the Silicon Valley office. The individual will be responsible for completing project assignments as requested and prioritized by the Manager of LSS including support, training, documenting, researching and testing. The selected candidate will act as the liaison between IS departments to provide technical support of LSS systems; work with case teams in use of trial software applications, set-up/logistics of trial sites and courtroom; and preparation of materials hearings and trials; troubleshoot issues as they arise with litigation case teams, systems and technologies.
-Assist in providing support for the existing practice area applications and infrastructure.
-Consult and answer attorney questions regarding current projects, and questions about new and existing applications.
-Create end user and technical documentation for litigation practice area systems, facilitating the use of electronic solutions (litigation databases and electronic "discovery" solutions);R expanding use of these tools to more attorneys and more matters.
-Provide administrative and technical support for LSS supported applications including: JFS Applications, Record File, Events & Players, Trial Director, Lotus Approach and LiveNote.
-Troubleshoot with IS Help desk and individual users on all LSS applications.
-Work with LSS project managers, technical specialists, developers and attorneys in gathering feedback on potential enhancements for LSS applications, assessing performance of vendors and evaluating new litigation support and electronic discovery software/vendors.
-Work with users, developers and project managers on testing and rolling out new applications and upgrades.
-Train IS staff and end users on all LSS applications as required.
-Provide ideas whenever possible to further automate litigation area tasks.
-Work on various projects as assigned by the Manager of LSS and LSS Project Managers.
-Collaborate with paralegals and attorneys regarding trial support software/hardware.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
-IS/Litigation Support experience (4+ years).
-Self-motivated person with excellent time management skills and project management experience.
-Ability to adhere to project goals and deadlines.
-Person should be a team player who communicates and cooperates with all members of the project team.
-Knowledge of standard firm applications and specific experience with LSS supported
software applications. Familiarity with Windows environment in addition to experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
-Person should have a positive attitude and have the ability to work well with attorneys and
other IS personnel.
-Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate results.
-In-depth technical skills and familiarity with law firm automation systems, specifically in the
litigation practice areas.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with those
of varying technical expertise.
