Guided by department objectives and priorities, provide strong, hands-on technical ownership of the web-based (Intranet/Portal/Extranet) application environment including both infrastructure and application integration/development.  Scope of responsibility includes static and dynamic intranet web sites, intranet portal and extranet web applications. Ensure client service and satisfaction is attained in all areas of position.  

Portal/Intranet Development and Maintenance Duties

1.      Working with external vendor(s), serve as internal technical lead to develop an enterprise portal implementation for 2,500 users, using MS Sharepoint.
2.      Develop intranet and extranet solutions using MS Sharepoint, including the creation of custom web parts using .NET.
3.      Responsible for programming and troubleshooting activities (writing, testing and debugging code, using .NET) for both purchased and proprietary programs.
4.      Serve as the internal technical lead for the  MindServer (Recommind) enterprise search deployment.
5.      Configure and customize portal and enterprise search programs for team/practice group/project needs based on specific client requirements..

Administrative Duties

1.      Create and maintain supporting technical documentation for programs.
2.      Responsible for overseeing technical solutions provided by program vendors.

Technical Support

1.      Provide technical support for the  Intranet, Portal and Extranet technical applications/infrastructure.
2.      Provide SharePoint and enterprise search specific 2nd level support.
3.      Provide technical support for assigned web applications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

1.      Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology; Software Engineering; or, related field preferred.
2.      A minimum of 4 years experience as a system administrator of a Microsoft-based web infrastructure including ASP/.NET; VB/C#, FrontPage; IIS; IE; SQL Server; Access; and, Windows 2003 Servers
3.      At least 5 years experience in developing and supporting web-based information retrieval systems on the MS Windows platform.  Experience with .NET/Visual Studio required MCSD certification a plus
4.      A minimum of 2 years administrative and development experience using Sharepoint 2003/2007 (Windows SharePoint Services AND Sharepoint Portal Server).
5.      Prior technical/integration experience with any of the following is a plus: MS Office XP, Hummingbird/DOCS Open, MS CMS (Content Management Server), Interface Software/Interaction
