Oracle DBA San Francisco 415
Oracle DBA to design, implement and manage multiple very large databases housing several terabytes of text and other document data. The successful candidate will work in concert with Engineering and the IT teams to develop and manage a world-class database infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Ø Serve as the resident DBA;
Ø Create and implement database standards;
Ø Data modeling, physical design and schema management;
Ø Manage and Tune the databases;
Ø Enhance and implement our data backup and recovery policy;
Ø Responsible for trouble shooting performance issues on the application databases;
Ø Create and verify all schema and seed data installation scripts, data migration scripts, and database management scripts;
Ø Provide Operations support for the database.
Requirements
Ø Experience developing and managing large (> 1TB) databases; experience with large document databases;
Ø At least 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA in a production environment;
Ø Oracle Certification -- Expert at Oracle 9i or later;
Ø Experience with Oracle RAC;
Ø Experience with Sybase, SQL Server and other database technologies is a plus;
Ø Must have strong written and oral communication skills;
Ø Demonstrated ability to solve problems to their resolution;
Ø BS or MS. in Computer Science or related area of study.
